We are not under the law but under grace
In the Old Testament, the Levitical priesthood was the center of religious life. Priests from the tribe of Levi offered sacrifices, interceded for the people, and upheld the law. But Jesus, our High Priest, did not come from Levi — He came from the tribe of Judah. His priesthood is not according to the old pattern but after the order of Melchizedek as Hebrews 7:17 puts it.
This mean when Jesus became our High Priest, everything changed. The old system — with its sacrifices, rituals, and regulations — gave way to a new covenant, based on grace, not law. His perfect and eternal priesthood brought a new way to approach God: not through rituals, but through relationship.
